Luxury beliefs or tribal signals?

Bo and Noah discuss Rob Henderson’s fascinating and provocative idea of “luxury beliefs.” Both agree that Henderson deserves credit for drawing attention to similarities between beliefs and status goods, for coining a catchy name, and for critically examining the hidden logic of many progressive attitudes. However, they also believe that luxury beliefs may better be described as tribal beliefs.
