Other than his involvement with eugenics which has been a politically incorrect branch of science since WW2, most of the fields that Galton was interested in are too abstract for the average person to understand and not sexy enough so that the press can dress them up for public appeal. Even if eugenics becomes a branch of science that has mainstream acceptance again, Galton's subjects will only get him admiration in the fields that he excelled in, such as statistics.
