High status men divorce/remarry more often and often wind up with kids from multiple marriages, whereas low-status women don't have careers competing for their time so much, or sometimes forget to use contraceptives.

For the last 3 generations, there has been an expansion of social welfare for single mothers with kids.
High status men (when not siring illegitimate children) practice serial monogomy with young fertile mates.
I wonder if the availability and acceptability of abortion has anything to do with it?
