I found out I was donor-conceived earlier this year and I had a similar reaction of being stunned, then something making sense. I too have a half sibling and we are both extremely verbal and "quick" in a way no one in my family-that-raised me is. It's strange and eerie.

I call my Substack "23andWTF" because that's how I think of it. Looking forward to listening to part two but had to jump in right away because this...resonates, as they say.

It's going to keep happening as these databases become larger and larger.

Will check out your Substack! Thanks for reading!

The weirdest thing is that it doesn't even matter if anyone else in either immediate/close bio side tests--the new gene thing shows which ethnicity/origins come from which side (parent 1/parent 2)--so in my case, seeing that one of the two parents had no Ashkenazi DNA would be enough to know that I was DC (egg or sperm) since my understanding is that my dad is full Ashkenazi, and my mom half. The changes are happening fast!!
