Great article, Noah. But you concentrate on the possibility of a European immigration crisis, while there are plenty of other nasty outcomes from such an Iranian war. An extremely high price for petroleum products. Will China and Russia allow Iran to be defeated? Probably not. Who will Iran retaliate against in the Middle East? Most likely US vassals and vessels in the area, and most surely Israel.

Agreed — a regional war could have many other serious consequences that I didn't discuss. (I did mention the possibility of Iranian strikes on Gulf energy infrastructure in a footnote.)

Close the borders like Trump did. Kick Turkey out of Nato if needed or assist him.

Stop the importing of evil cultures. And do not take Noah Carl seriously on this issue.

Which part of the article do you disagree with, out of interest?

Of course, Europe might decide to refuse immigrants, seeing as they would most likely be of the ilk to have supported the regime. And the Muslim countries, Turkey included, that might find them pounding at their gates should be glad to welcome fellow jihadi travelers. The Muslim Middle East, including Turkey, is never summoned to pay the costs of their folly, their failed states, their liquidation animus toward Israel, their nasty regimes at home. It's about time people who believe in freedom and prosperity and difference stand up for those accomplishments. I bet a lot of Iranians would welcome that too. As for Russia and China, they have problems of their own to keep them occupied.

Perhaps they will take time to aid the Iranians — it is in their best interest!

Not really. Russia is still busy trying to conquer Ukraine and China is trying to figure out how to have their citizens gave more children. The problem is their citizens are not free citizens. But empires are not destined to succeed in the long run, even if as Keynes said in the long run we will all be dead.
