The genetic basis of human height. Louise Bicknell and colleagues review the literature on the genetic basis of individual differences in height. Height is a highly polygenic trait, meaning that it is affected by thousands of variants each with a very small effect size. However, it can also be affected by single variants of large effect size associated with monogenic disorders. Scientists are gradually homing-in on the underlying cellular and developmental pathways.

Measuring Human Leadership Skills with AI Agents. Ben Weidmann and colleagues examine whether humans with better leadership skills are better at managing AI agents. They find that when individuals are randomly assigned to lead groups of humans or AI agents, performance across the two domains is strongly correlated (ρ = 0.81). The best leaders ask more questions (of both humans and AI agents) and engage in more conversational turn-taking.
