The association between political orientation and political knowledge in 45 nations. Jonas De keersmaecker and colleagues examine the relationship between political orientation and political knowledge in a sample covering 45 countries. Contrary to previous studies, they find that people with moderate left- or right-wing views are more knowledgeable than those at the extremes or in the centre. This pattern was particularly evident in Western countries.
Humor ability reveals intelligence, predicts mating success, and is higher in males. Gil Greengross and Geoffrey Miller study the relationships between intelligence, humour ability and mating success. In a sample of university students, they find that individuals who scored higher on intelligence tests wrote captions for cartoons that were rated as funnier, and that individuals who wrote such captions had higher lifetime reproductive success.
