Essay Competition Announcement!
Welcome to the first Ideas Sleep Furiously Essay Competition
Welcome to the first ISF Essay Competition! First, the important part…prize money!
I mentioned in our series of special announcements on Saturday (see below if you missed it), that the prize money will be decided at the end of this week when our special Relaunch Week 50% offer runs out:
This is because will be totalling all of the money generated from this week’s sign ups and doubling it for the essay prize pool. This is a good excuse, then, to remind you that for just $25 a year you can support ISF in hosting writers who might not get spotlighted elsewhere and making podcasts with a wide variety of intriguing guests. In return, we’re offering:
You will get to hear my sweet dulcet tones as I narrate every article we upload. Worth the price of admission alone.
Livestreams with myself, Jonny Anomaly, and other guests
Submit questions to guests
Early access to podcasts & your name in the credits
Update: it’s now Oct 22nd (one day before I determine the prize money). It’s looking like it will be around $700. So we may have prize money for first and second place.
How do I enter the competition?
Very simple. You need to email IdeasSleepFuriously@Protonmail.com with a one-line answer to the following question: What is your most controversial opinion?
Note that we’re interested in opinions. Opinions are not facts, they are up for debate (but are obviously informed by facts).
Please make the subject heading: Essay Entry
Once we have your entry, we will be in touch, but you are automatically entered into the competition when we have confirmed receipt of your email.

We have some amazing independent judges. To be announced soon.
Oct 30th: Email us by midnight (UK time) with your one-line answer in order to be entered.
Oct 31st: All entries will be published as a newsletter. Essay instructions will also follow.
